Factional clashes between the Yung Aungโ€“led and Angmaiโ€“led NSCN groups in Myanmar left four cadres dead after a February 1 attack in the Jethrawk area of Sagaing Province near the Indoโ€“Myanmar border.

Sources allege that the Angmai-led NSCN launched the attack on the Yung Aung faction, killing four members in what is seen as part of a continuing power struggle between the rival groups.

The Angmai faction is believed to be seeking to retain control over the strategically important Pangsau Pass along the Indiaโ€“Myanmar border, heightening security concerns as factional hostilities escalate in the region.

While authorities are closely watching developments, there has been no official confirmation of the incident or the reported fatalities. The episode underscores the persistent tensions and rivalries among NSCN factions operating in Myanmar.
