𝗙𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗮𝗸𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗔𝗻 𝟴.𝟰𝟲𝟳-𝗸𝗴 𝗜𝗘𝗗 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗼 𝗟𝗮𝗺𝗸𝗵𝗮𝗶 𝗞𝗮𝗶𝗯𝘂𝗻𝗴, 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.

A joint team of Kakching district commandos and the 46th Assam Rifles discovered the IED during routine foot patrols on the road connecting Wangoo to Wangjing Khunou.

Swift action followed, with security forces cordoning off the area to prevent civilian access and avert potential incidents.

Traffic was rerouted to alternate paths to ensure public safety.

Upon receiving the alert, a bomb experts team rushed to the site and defused the IED by 2.30 pm .

Examination of the device revealed an iron container weighing 1.682 kilograms, 3 kilograms of sand, 2.5 kilograms of splinters, 470 grams of TNT explosive, an electric detonator, and approximately one meter of wiring.

The defused IED has been handed over to Wangoo police station for further investigation.
