In Baihata Chariali mother sustain injuries after attacked by Son

Guwahati: Tension flared in Assam’s Baihata Chariali on Wednesday (August 2) after an elderly woman was attacked by her own son with a sharp object and seriously injured.

According to reports, Khiroda Sharma, an elderly woman in her 70s, was injured when her own son attacked her with a knife.
The incident took place in Barpalaha village of Kamalpur sub-division.

According to the information we have, the woman sustained injuries on her head and neck. She was immediately referred to GMCH, Guwahati Medical College and Hospital.
Meanwhile, the accused in the case, identified as Dulal Sharma, was taken into police custody.
According to the villagers, the police arrived at the scene much later than expected. Neighbors further said that the accused Dulal Sharma had attacked his mother in a drunken state before.

Neighbors also said that the accused also disturbed the normally peaceful atmosphere of the village.
