Imphal: 25-year-old Manipur-based Songashim Rungsung is all set to compete in Mr. Friendship International which will be held from December 8-18, 2022 in Khon Khaen, Thailand.

This will be India’s first representation in an international championship.

Songashim, a member of the Tangkhul Naga tribe, who won the title of Rubaru Mr. India 2020-21, will represent India in a global pageant in which 17 other candidates from different countries will participate.

“The preparation is going very well. There are a lot of pressures and challenges, but at the same time, I am excited to represent my country. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I will try to do my best. ,” They said.

“I’m excited to meet the other 17 candidates and exchange cultures and make some new friends,” Songashim told VOSS a day before flying out of the country for the pageant.

Talking about the pressure, Songashime said, “Since it’s an international level competition, it’s really challenging. To deal with the pressure that comes with it, I mentally keep myself positive and meditative. Joining together and doing lots of homework and also getting knowledge from experts.”

Hailing from Taloi village in Akharul district, Songashim who is 5’11 feet tall is a social media influencer, fitness consultant and model. She started her career in the glamor industry in 2018 when she competed in Mega North East and made it to the top 10 finalists.
Songashim also expressed his gratitude for the love and support he has been receiving.

“I am very happy to have so many supporters from my hometown and across the country. The support gives me confidence and makes me more positive,” he added.
