YMA said Myanmar refugees got indian Aadhar card, PAN card

Aizawl: Young Mizo Association (YMA) on Tuesday said some Myanmar nationals, who have taken shelter in a village in Mizoram’s Kolasib district, have obtained Indian documents such as Aadhar card, PAN card and bank passbook.

In a statement, YMA’s Awithangpa Group said it had recently screened 110 Myanmar nationals, who are currently taking refugee in Khamrang village in Mizoram’s Kolasib district.
During the assessment, it was found that 3 Myanmar nationals were in possession of Aadhar card, while one person was found to have a bank passbook at the Federal Bank in Aizawl, Mizoram and another had a PAN card, he said.

Photocopies of the credentials have been submitted to Mizoram’s Kolasib district deputy commissioner John LT Sanga for further investigation, it said.
The organization alleged that the Aadhar card holders committed the forgery with the help of a person, whose identity has not been disclosed, at a shopping mall in Aizawl, Mizoram.

It said that Myanmar citizens paid Rs 8,000 for an Aadhar card.
He asked the Deputy Commissioner to investigate the matter and take necessary steps to cancel the fake documents immediately.

Meanwhile, John LT Sanga said illegal possession of Indian documents by foreigners is a serious issue, which will be thoroughly investigated with the police.
