Wrecked check gates operational again TMC leader alleged
Shillong: The Trinamool Congress in Meghalaya has alleged that the check gates removed by the concerned administration in the state have once again been operationalized on the highways.
Speaking on the issue, Meghalaya TMC leader George B. Lyngdoh claimed that some “unscrupulous” elements had re-installed the gates even after they were dismantled.
He also claimed that the check gates were activated only so that these people could get the support of those in power.
The TMC leader said that the deputy commissioner should take notice of the issue to ensure that there is no illegal hoarding on the highways.
He also said that there is a need for regular patrolling on all suspicious routes.
He further said that while he had no evidence in photographs or anything else, he asked the DC to look into the complaints and allegations.
He said that there are some complaints which he has received from various sources and he is trying to verify them himself.
