Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh has 8,31,618 voters as per the final electoral rolls with women voters outnumbering men, an election official said here on Friday.
The northeastern state has 4,22,418 women voters and 4,09,200 male voters, said Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Liken Koyu.
Arunachal Pradesh recorded an increase of 1.51 percent voters in the final electoral rolls, prepared by the state election office here.
“This exercise (Final Electoral Roll) by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to issue a special summary revision schedule of Electoral Rolls with reference to January 1, 2023 as the date of eligibility in all 60 assembly constituencies of the state. The latter was done,” Koyu said.
According to the programme, the final publication of electoral rolls was done on January 5 at all polling stations and designated locations, Election Returning Officers (EROs), Assistant Election Returning Officers (AEROs) headquarters of the respective assembly constituencies.
Koyu said the main objective of the exercise was to include the names of young voters who have attained the age of 18 on January 1, 2023 and also to remove the names of several voters as per ECI guidelines. said.
The official added that all newly registered voters can upload their names in the final electoral rolls of 2023 on CEO’s website www.ceoarunachal.nic.in or www.nvsp.in or voters helpline app.
