Women paraded naked viral condemn by Priyanka,Jaya and Celina
A heartbreaking video from Manipur showing two women being paraded naked by a group of men has sparked widespread outrage and condemnation from prominent figures.
As the video went viral, calls for immediate action against the culprits to ensure women’s safety gained momentum.
Veteran actor and Rajya Sabha member Jaya Bachchan expressed her outrage over the incident, saying, “I felt so bad, I couldn’t watch the whole video, I was embarrassed.” She stressed the need for compassion and asserted that the safety of women should be the top priority.
Addressing the issue of representation, she said, “It is about women’s safety. But you say things like we have selected 50 per cent women for the panel. Hanthi ke daat hai (It is like elephant’s tusks)”.
Priyanka Chopra, a globally acclaimed actress and philanthropist, took to her Instagram story to express her concerns.She questioned the delay in action, saying, “This is a video going viral… 77 days after the heinous crimes… before action is taken.
” Chopra called for unity in seeking justice and emphasized that women cannot be used as pawns in any situation. The actor shared the hashtags “#togetherinshame #justiceforthewomenofmanipur” to mobilize support and raise awareness.
Model-actress Celina Jaitley expressed her dismay over the violence, saying, “I have been unable to sleep or eat since watching the #manipur_violence videos a few hours ago.
Shivering again with rage, pain and anger.” Jaitley condemned all forms of violence against women, stressing that it was criminal and not cultural. She urged the government to take strict action to ensure that such heinous crimes are never repeated.
The Manipur violence has also drawn reactions from other notable figures in the film industry, including Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani, Sonu Sood, and Soni Razdan, who have expressed strong disapproval and solidarity with the victims.
