New Delhi: A helicopter carrying pilgrims from Guptkashi to Kedarnath in Uttarakhand crashed on Tuesday.

The helicopter – carrying pilgrims – was flying from Kedarnath to the Patta helipad. Soon after the accident, teams of SRDF (State Disaster Response Force) and local police reached the spot.
“The helicopter crash in Kedarnath is very sad. We are in touch with the state government to ascertain the extent of the damage, and are continuously monitoring the situation,” tweeted Union Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
The helicopter was operated by Ayan Aviation Pvt Ltd, a private firm. Ltd. – which provides Heli services in the area.
