
UNLF (Pambei) condoles the death of its MPA Namoijam Gollai
Imphal: The Pambei-led UNLF has condoled the demise of its MPA private Namoijam Gollai alias Sanatomba alias Aboi and also offered revolutionary salute to the departed freedom fighter.
According to a statement issued by the outfit’s media coordinator Charairongba Thokchom, Sanatomba alias Aboi, born on February 7, 1999, was the only son of Namoijam Tonsana and late Namoijam (ongbi) Tombi of Phougakchao Ikhai Makha Leikai, Bishnupur district.
He joined the party in May 2023 and became an MPA fighter.
He went from MPA’s first brigade to a base camp of the third brigade, located in Manipur-Myanmar border in December 2023 along with some other cadres.
Private Sanatomba alias Aboi took charge of guarding the base camp for the last five months.
He took an active role in defending the base camp when it came under heavy attack from a combined force of PDF and KNF(B) for seven days not so long ago.
He also took part in another fierce battle when adversary forces ambushed a team of MPA cadres, it said.
After fighting these battles successfully, the MPA cadres including Sanatomba alias Aboi reached their general headquarters on May 17 .
He took leave and visited his family on May 21 but he suffered a sudden heart attack on May 22 and he died on the same day, it conveyed.
After their house was burnt down by armed Kukis, Sanatomba’s family have been taking refuge in a relief camp opened at Moirang Khunou.
Sanatomba was a committed, courageous, disciplined and selfless freedom fighter, the outfit said.
Expressing deep respect for private Sanatomba alias Aboi, the outfit has conveyed solidarity to the bereaved family and friends.
