Mizoram: Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati in his capacity as President of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) presided over a meeting with Health Department officials and members of IRCS at Raj Bhavan today.
On the request of the Governor, Principal Secretary, P. Esther Lal Ruatkimi, Department of Health gave a power point presentation on the background and activities of IRCS – Mizoram Chapter. An ad-hoc committee member secretary under the state-level committee, Dr Chawnglungmuana also completed the report.
Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati after reviewing the activities expressed his opinion that the IRCS-Mizoram Chapter should have been more active in its role.
He suggested that the ad-hoc committee under IRCS-Mizoram should come up with a proposal to actively involve IRCS-Mizoram in some useful social works.
He also advised IRCS-Mizoram members to find out how IRCS is functioning in other states.
