Manipur: A powerful IED bomb blast took place in Manipur’s Ukhrul district on April 3 at around 6.30 pm, injuring five people, one of whom is in a critical condition.
According to information, the incident took place at a place between Makhan Store and Viewland Baptist Church. The injured were admitted to Ukhrul District Hospital.
A team of Ukhrul district police and paramilitary forces reached the accident site for investigation. It is not yet known who carried out the attack.
It may be mentioned here that earlier on March 21, according to police sources, a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) exploded inside the Money Secretariat campus in Ukhrul district of Manipur.
The blast, which police believe was caused by a thrown IED bomb, took place in the north block of the Mini Secretariat of the district headquarters around 4:35 pm.
No loss of life or property was reported from the blast site, although the incident could have had tragic consequences. Police officials immediately registered a 100-moto case at the Ukhrul police station and started an investigation, including an undercover operation. The police have expressed hope that significant progress will be made in the case soon.
