Two more Assam students evacuated from Ukraine

Two more Assamese students stranded in war-torn Ukraine have arrived in New Delhi, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister said that one student reached Delhi Airport while the other arrived at Hindon Air Base in Ghaziabad.
A total of 106 students from Assam stranded in Ukraine have returned to India.
After MEA’s efforts to evacuate Indian students stranded in Ukraine under @opganga, Manoj Kr Deka returned safely from Goreswar to Delhi. He was received by officials from Assam Bhawan, New Delhi, where he remained till then We will do it until we can arrange their trip to Guwahati, “Sarma said in a tweet.
Another student from Assam, Nirup Kumar Panda (Tinsukia), studying in Ukraine, arrived at Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad. “Unless we can arrange his trip to Guwahati,” the chief minister said in another tweet.
The two students will be lodged in Assam Bhavan where they will stay till further travel to Guwahati is arranged.
So far, 106 students from Assam have been expelled from Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the Union Minister for Shipping, Ports, Waterways and Ayush Sarbanand Sonowal on Tuesday welcomed Ukrainian students and other evacuees who arrived at Suceava, Romania from New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport under ‘Operation Ganga’.
