Dimapur: Nagaland Police has seized a huge quantity of banned heroin from Kohima. The heroin seized by the Nagaland Police in Kohima is estimated to be worth more than Rs 7 crore in the international market.
On Monday (November 13), the Nagaland Police seized a total of 1 kg 73 grams of heroin from Sechu (Zubza) in Kohima.
The seized heroin was packed in 90 cases of soap.
Nagaland Police has also arrested two persons in connection with this seizure.
This information was given by the police in Kohima, Nagaland on Tuesday (November 14).
A team of officials from North Police Station led by SDPO (North) intercepted a Maruti Swift (NL 01C A 4396) coming from Manipur at Sechü (Zubza) on NH 29, Nagaland Police in Kohima said.
He added: “During the search of the vehicle, the team located and recovered 90 soap cases of heroin weighing approximately 1073 grams.”
He added that two people in the vehicle have been arrested in this connection.
