Manipur: Despite the measures taken by the concerned authorities to keep law and order under control in Manipur, incidents of gun firing are still taking place in a few pockets of the state.
On May 13, there were incidents of gun firing in Senapati district and Churachandpur district.
According to reliable sources, a group of unidentified gunmen opened fire on the Assam Rifles while they were conducting a dominion patrol in the area at Sapijang village under Sinapati district.
The incident took place around 11.25 am. The security retaliated effectively and all the unidentified armed men escaped.
Security forces recovered two rifles and ammunition from the spot.
A similar incident took place at Lailampat under Churachandpur district at around 12.45 pm.
At this place also, a group of unidentified armed men opened fire on the army and the Assam Rifles during the patrolling of the area from the forest area.
Two personnel of the Assam Rifles were injured and evacuated.
