Agartala: Tripura youth dies in mysterious circumstances. A young man from the northern district of Tripura died under mysterious circumstances at a drug rehabilitation center run by an NGO in Silchar, Assam. The family of the deceased has lodged an FIR against the officials of the rehabilitation center. According to available information, the deceased, identified as Bipin Das, a resident of Jwalbasa area of Panisagar sub-division, was sent to the Desha Foundation Rehabilitation Center in Silchar a few months ago. His mother, a single parent, was in regular contact with Dasha Foundation officials about Das’s well-being. On Sunday, however, she received a call from Desha Foundation officials informing her that her son had fallen and was injured.
Moments later, Desha Foundation officials told him their son was gone. Disturbed by the news, the family members reached Selcher and contacted the President Police Station.
The family members reached the spot on Monday due to police intervention but the authorities failed to give satisfactory answers to the questions of the family members.
The body was handed over to the next of kin after postmortem at Gangur Hospital. The family told media that Assam Police has started investigation into the matter.
