Tripura Youth Congress president attacked, car vandalized

Agartala: Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress President Rakho Das was attacked during a political program organized in Bishramganj area under Sepahijala district on Tuesday evening.

Speaking to North East Now, Das alleged, “A group of BJP-backed miscreants had laid a cordon around our meeting hall in Bishramganja. We came here after a protest rally. Delhi. Moumita Kali, a senior leader, also sustained injuries in the attacks.
“Several vehicles, including mine, were vandalized by BJP workers who rioted in the area,” he added.
Das also alleged that despite repeated attempts, the police did not make sufficient efforts to rescue the Congress workers trapped in the building.

Sources said that there were clashes between the Congress and the BJP, after which the Congress party took out a protest rally.
A heavy contingent of police and TSR troops was deployed in the market to defuse the tension.
The Youth Congress president got into a heated exchange with SDPO Bishalgarh Rahul Das for allegedly not taking action against “BJP-sponsored terrorism”.
