Tripura: Mahila Morcha national president Vinathi Srinivasan expressed confidence that women will vote for the BJP in large numbers in the Tripura assembly elections early next year.
The northeastern state has a total of 27.33 lakh voters, of which 13.53 lakh are women, according to the draft voter list.
Srinivasan told reporters in Agartala that the women of the country have faith in the BJP, which will lead the country to a better future.
“I am confident that women voters will exercise their franchise in support of BJP nominees in the upcoming assembly elections,” Srinivasan said.
Srinivasan also addressed a rally organized by the Mahila Morcha and inaugurated the ‘Chai Pe Charcha’ outreach program at Kherpur in West Tripura district.
The BJP leader said that he interacted with the women to know their views and activities of the saffron party in the state.
He added that to know about women’s perspective on government, it will conduct such programs in 870 Shakti Kendras (a Shakti Kendra maintains five to seven booths) and base But the manifesto of the party will be prepared for the assembly elections.
Srinivasan highlighted the steps taken by the BJP government for the welfare of women in the northeastern state.
