Tripura Transport Minister writes letter to Center, seeks small and medium-sized aircraft for Kailashahar Airport
AGARTALA: In an attempt to bring Tripura’s Kailashahar Airport on the map of air connectivity in Unakoti district, Tripura Transport Minister Pranajit Singh Rai has written a letter to Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
A senior official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the Tripura Transport Minister in his letter to Sindhia had sought small and medium-sized aircraft for the Agartala-Kailashahar-Guwahati and Agartala-Kailashahar-Imphal routes.
Agartala: In an attempt to bring Tripura’s Kailashahar Airport on the map of air connectivity in Anakoti district, Tripura Transport Minister Pranjit Singh Rai has written a letter to Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Sindhia.
Tripura’s Kailashahar Airport has already been included in the central government’s flight scheme, which aims to make air travel accessible to the general public.
In addition, a written proposal has been sent to the Ministry for maintenance and development of the runway at Kailashahar Airport so that small or medium-sized aircraft such as Dornier 228 or ATR 72 can land at the airport, ”the source said.
In addition, the Tripura government, in collaboration with the Center, has taken several steps for the development of Kailashahar Airport.
