Addressing a cow distribution programme at the North Tripura District Magistrate’s Office, Das said, “The state government is working to promote commercial animal husbandry. We are trying to create an environment where Tripura became self-sufficient in milk, egg and meat production.
Das added: “Every child in the state should get food from milk produced in the state. That should be our main goal.”

According to the Tripura minister, in many areas, due to geographical challenges, farmers are unable to access veterinary services.

“With this in mind, we are introducing 12 mobile vans that will reach farmers and provide health checks on the doorsteps of their animals,” said Bhagaban Das.
