Agartala: Tripura reported 446 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, an increase of 230 from the previous day, taking the tally to 1,04,728.
It said the number rose to 922 after one more person died of the infection in the last 24 hours.
A health department official said a fresh COVID-19 death was reported at GB Pant Hospital in Agartala, and the patient had other ailments.
At least 293 people have recovered from the disease since Saturday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,01,357, officials said.
The daily positive rate stood at 12.14 percent, up from 11.61 percent, with 3,673 samples tested ,446 new COVID-19 for fresh cases, an official said.
Tripura now has 2,380 active patients, and most of them are undergoing home quarantine.
The state government has already issued an advisory to curb the rising trend of infections and urged people to follow proper Covid behavior.
The state-level Covid task force has not been asked to impose any stringent measures like mandatory tests for those entering Tripura. We are monitoring the situation,” the official added.
