Agartala: The BJP on Thursday promised greater autonomy for tribal areas, increased financial assistance to farmers and special manufacturing zones for the rubber-based industry if it comes to power for a second consecutive term in Tripura.
Releasing the party’s manifesto for the February 16 assembly polls in the state, BJP president JP Nadda also announced a Rs 5 meal-for-all scheme, named after religious guru Anukul Chandra. has been placed on, and a Regional Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital will be established at Agartala.
“We will take Tripura on the path of DTH – growth, transformation and harmony,” Nadda said at a press conference here.
The manifesto said that every girl would be given a Balika Samridddhi bond of Rs 50,000 while the tribal language Kokborok would become a subject in the CBSE and ICSE syllabus.
“We will set up special manufacturing zones for rubber, agar and bamboo-based industries. The Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi of Rs 6,000 will be extended and the state government will provide Rs 2,000 more,” Nadda said.
He said that if voted back to power, the BJP would give more autonomy to the tribal areas, including more legislative, executive and fiscal powers.
