AGARTALA: In a fresh spate of political violence in Tripura, a clash broke out between BJP and CPI-M workers in Khowai district on Wednesday.
Several people were injured in a clash between two parties in Tripura’s Khowai district.
Twelve BJP workers were injured in the clash while at least six CPI-M workers were also injured.
The injured Tripura BJP workers were identified as Sagar Ghosh, Amlan Rashidas, Amit Das, Laton Saha, Gopal Pal, Sushanta Debnath, Santosh Das, Sanjay Nath Sharma, Krishna Dev Roy, Abhijeet Ghosh, Rishi Das and Pradesh Tanti. has gone
Three of the injured Tripura BJP workers are said to be in critical condition and have been referred to GB Hospital in Agartala from Khoi District Hospital.
On the other hand, the condition of one of the six injured workers of Tripura CPI-M is said to be critical.
The Tripura CPI-M has accused the BJP of stoking fresh political violence in the state by attacking a Left Front procession.
Tripura CPI-M senior leader Pabitra Kar alleged, “The BJP had planned the attack in advance.
He added: “BJP in Tripura has become a party, totally dependent on gangsters.”
“This is the good governance and better law and order that the current chief minister is claiming,” said the Tripura CPI-M leader.
He added: “People will topple the BJP government in Tripura due to misrule.”
On the other hand, Tripura BJP leader Subrat Majumdar held the CPI-M responsible for the clash between the workers of the two parties in Khoi on Wednesday.
Majumdar alleged that the CPIM workers, who were taking part in the procession, attacked the BJP workers.
He claimed that BJP workers were working on campaign decorations for the “Ghar Ghar BJP” programme, when they were attacked by CPI-M workers.
