
Tripura police arrested one in case of raping minor girl
Agartala: One person has been arrested by the police for allegedly raping a minor girl in Sepahijala, Tripura.
The arrested person identified as Saddam Hossain was accused of being accompanied by another.
The two men are said to have met the 16-year-old girl on social media.
Hossain, a resident of Kulubari in Sepahijala district, met the victim on social media in March this year, she told the police.
The accused then met her in person and then raped her on April 27.
One more person identified to be Saddam’s friend too has been accused of raping her.
The girl, somehow, managed to flee from the accused and filed a written complaint against them at the Bishalgarh Women’s Police Station.
Based on the complaint, the police launched an operation and arrested the Hossain.
Operations to arrest another accused are still on.
