Agartala: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit poll-bound Tripura in the month of November. Top state BJP sources told  that his visit is likely to take place in the second or third week of November.

“Things are yet to be finalised, but he will visit Tripura to attend several events, including the inauguration of new residences built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and political rallies for BJP supporters. The final timetable is yet to be finalized. to reach us,” said a party source.
The Prime Minister’s visit to the state was scheduled on October 27-28. Their meetings have been postponed due to other engagements.

“The Prime Minister’s public address at the Swami Vivekananda Stadium will give a new direction to the party’s election preparations. It will help boost the morale of party workers, who have been affected by recent political developments after several defections from the saffron camp. His visit will breathe new life into the party’s electoral process,” said a senior party leader.
Meanwhile, a team of top party leaders has visited Tripura to assess the situation on the ground. BJP national joint general secretary V Satish, party chief observer Mahesh Sharma, and poll in-charge Mahendra Singh chaired marathon meetings with party workers at various levels.

According to the sources, the purpose of the meetings is to train the party leadership regarding the elections and to assess the organizational strengths and weaknesses of the party.

Mahendra Singh had announced that a two-thirds majority (40 out of 60 seats) was the target the BJP was eyeing in 2023.
“The equation is clear. The BJP wants an out-and-out majority. If the Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) has established an unshakable grip on 20 tribal-majority seats, the BJP will win the remaining 40 seats for this election. The CPI(M) and the Congress are the main rivals for the BJP in the plains,” said a senior leader.
Mahesh Sharma has been working across the state to review rural units, while V Satish guided the state leadership with the election strategy here in Agartala.
