Liquor shops bars will remain closed
Agartala: Liquor shops and bars in Tripura state will remain closed during Durga Puja and Diwali.
The step has been taken by the Tripura government to “ensure peace in the state” during Durga Puja and Diwali celebrations.
Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Jyotishman Das Chowdhury said on Friday, “All foreign liquor shops, country liquor shops and bars will be closed on October 2 to 5 and October 24 to ensure restoration of public peace and order.” will remain closed.”
A notification has been issued to close liquor shops and bars during Durga Puja and Diwali in all districts of Tripura.
Chaudhary said that strict action will be taken against the violation of the directive.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in Tripura state to prevent any untoward incident during the Durga Puja celebrations.
More than 2500 security personnel will be deployed in Tripura state during the celebrations.
