Agartala: The three-day Indo-Bangla Tourism Festival kicked off on Sunday at Ajanta Palace in Agartala, the capital of Tripura.

The opening ceremony featured colorful cultural performances by artists from both countries.

Hundreds of people flocked to the capital of Tripura to enjoy the event.

The festival was first launched in 2020, but due to COVID-19 epidemics, the event has not been held for the past two years.

However, as the situation of COVID-19 in the country is slowly improving, the Tripura Tourism Department has once again organized the festival.

The main objective of the event is to strengthen cultural ties between Tripura and Bangladesh and also to promote tourism exchanges between India and Bangladesh.

Several Bangladeshi singers performed at the event, while Bangladeshi delegates tasted local food prepared at the food festival.

Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma inaugurated the fair and urged Bangladeshi investors to take advantage of the concessions offered in the industrial sector through various schemes like SEZ and ease of doing business.
Dev Varma , who also holds financial portfolios in the Tripura government, also asked the Bangladeshi government to encourage investment in the state.
