Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Wednesday released the BJP-IPFT government’s report card summarizing the performance of the current system, as the northeastern state gears up for assembly elections in February. Is.
The Chief Minister claimed that the BJP-IPFT government has done “a lot” of developmental and welfare works in Tripura and more is in the pipeline.
He pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that development projects in the North-Eastern region would be based on the concept of ‘HIRA’ (Highways, Inland Waterways, Railways and Airways) and he had extended full cooperation to the state. This promise has been fulfilled.
“The state has six national highways while seven more have been sanctioned to enhance connectivity. An amount of Rs 10,222 crore has been sanctioned to build the lifeline of the state from Churaibari to Agartala,” Saha said here in the program.
The north-eastern state has the third and strongest internet gateway that brings the whole world to its hands, he said adding that 12 express trains are being extended in the state.
“An inter-city train connecting Guwahati to Agartala will be flagged off soon to boost rail connectivity,” he pointed out.
We promised the public that a report card will be released before the 2023 assembly elections. Today, the government presented its performance on all fronts during the last 58 months.
The BJP-IPFT alliance came to power in Tripura in 2018, ending the CPI(M)-led Left Front’s 25-year rule.

Saha also highlighted the government’s achievements in the areas of agriculture, education, health, law, tribal welfare, and housing and infrastructure development since 2018.
He said that 12 percent DA was given to employees and pensioners recently while two more installments of DA were given earlier.
Citing the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report, the chief minister also targeted the opposition and claimed that the law and order situation is now better than the Left Front government.
“Out of 28 states, Tripura is among the bottom 7 states as far as crime is concerned. Opposition parties are trying to create unrest and blame the government,” he said.
Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma said that after many years the North Eastern state is on the path of all-round development.
“Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the government has performed exceptionally well in the last 58 months to meet the aspirations of the people,” he claimed.
