Tripura: Congress to file PIL against former chief minister Biplab Deb’s ‘VIP privilege’
Agartala: Senior Congress leader Sadeep Rai Berman said that the Congress would soon file a PIL before the Tripura High Court seeking an explanation as to how former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb was entitled to all these facilities and privileges. Are the ones he once enjoyed as chief minister.
The Congress leader criticized the former chief minister for seeking ‘VIP’ facilities, which should not have been given to him as per rules. “The hard-earned money of the taxpayers is being misused to ensure that Deb gets all the ‘VIP facilities’ like the chief minister,” he said.

Berman added, “All necessary arrangements are being made by departments like Rural Development, PWD and Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited. But none of them said a word about this serious violation of the protocol.
