AGARTALA: With elections in the state gearing up, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday took some time out of his busy schedule to perform surgery on a 10-year-old patient for a cystic mouth ulcer at the Tripura Medical College in Hapania area. of Agartala
According to a press statement issued by his office, the Chief Minister entered his old workplace – Tripura Medical College in Hapania at 9 am on Wednesday.
He went straight to the operating theater and played a central role in the successful oral cystic lesion surgery of a 10-year-old boy.
The Chief Minister came out of the operation theater at 9.30 am.
Talking to the media, Dr. Saha said, the patient, Akshit Ghosh, son of Sukanta Ghosh, is stable and out of danger. “He will probably be discharged from the hospital tomorrow,” Dr Saha said.
On his experience of returning to the operation theater after a long hiatus, Dr Saha said, “I didn’t feel any difference. The way I served here at TMC for years, I do the same today. My Friends were telling me that even after a long break, my hands were not shaking during the surgery.
The press statement added that the CM was assisted during the surgery by Dr. Amit Lal Goswami, Dr. Pooja Debnath, Dr. Rudra Prasad Chakraborty of Dental Surgery and Maxillofacial Surgery Department.
Dr. Smita Pal, Dr. Kanchan Das, Dr. Sharmishtha Banik Sen and Dr. Baishali Saha were also part of the medical team.
The anesthesia team consisted of Dr. Kangchai Chaudhary, Dr. Parumita Das and Dr. Aditi Bhattacharjee.
