Tripura by-polls ‘largely peaceful’, 76.62% voter turnout recorded: CEO

Agartala: According to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Kiran Gutti by-appointment of four gathering bodies electorate in Tripura, 76.62 percent of votes were projected till 5 pm on Thursday.

He said the polling process was largely peaceful, with the exception of a few sporadic incidents, including the stabbing of off-duty police constable Sameer Saha in the Kunjaban area of ​​the Agartala constituency.

He added that Saha is currently undergoing treatment.

The most raised turnout of 80.41 percent was kept in the Jobraj Nagar Assembly body electorate while 80% reviewing happened in the Surma allies.

Town Bardowali Assembly constituency, where Chief Minister Manik Saha is the BJP’s candidate, recorded the lowest turnout of 69.54%.

Agartala seat recorded a 76.72% turnout.

In the 2018 Assembly elections in the state, 87% of the votes were cast.
