The attack on the Patel Kanya Jamaat came just hours after Tipra Motha chairman Pradyot Kishore Debbarma , while those who “oppressed” the locals in Taido in Gomti district would be given a fair response.

Taidu and Jampuijala are tribal-majority and adjoining areas.
The Jamatia was attacked when the group tried to stop escorts from Tribal Welfare Minister Rampada Jamatia and BJP MP Rebati Tripura who were going to attend a program with Patil Kanya Jamaat in Jampijala.

He said a contingent of police reached the spot and took him to Tripura State Rifles (TSR) headquarters and the situation was brought under control.

The Patal Kanya Jamatia had recently joined the saffron party after leaving the Tripura People’s Front (TPF).caped, police said.
