Person arrested for 186 kg ganja seized
Agartala: Tripura Police in association with Assam Rifles on Tuesday seized a consignment of 186 kg of drugs and arrested one person.
According to reports, the seizure was made based on specific information held by the police station and personnel of the 29th Battalion of the Assam Rifles.
Based on the input, the team raided Hezamara village in Mohanpur sub-division of West Tripura district.
During the raid, they tracked down a person named Amlesh Pal, a resident of Kanban under Madhopur police station.
On searching the premises, the team recovered 186 kg of semi-dried ganja worth around Rs 9 lakh.
A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (ND&PS) Act has been registered at Siddhai police station.
West Tripura district police said in a tweet, “Based on specific inputs, Siddhai PS conducted a joint raid with 29 BN Assam Rifles at Hezmara and recovered approx. 186 kg of semi-dry ganja (valued at Rs 9 lakh). Rs.) and one Amlesh Pal of Kanaban arrested.Investigation under NDPS Act has been initiated.
