Aizawl: G20 Chief Coordinator Harsh Vardhan Shringla is on a two-day visit to Aizawl to review preparations for hosting the upcoming G20 summit on March 2.
He arrived at Lengpui Airport on Friday and was received by State Tourism Secretary Manisha Saxena.
On his arrival, he inspected the airport and then visited an auditorium of Mizoram University in Tanhiril area on the outskirts of Aizawl where the meeting would be held.
He also held a meeting with a core team constituted by the state government and members of various sub-committees to oversee the preparations for hosting the meeting.
Officials said that Shringla will meet Chief Minister Zormathanga before leaving for Delhi on Saturday.
Shringla was accompanied by External Affairs Ministry Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser Vaibhu Nayar and several other officials from the Centre.
India formally assumed the G20 presidency on December 1 last year. More than 200 meetings of the influential group will be held in 55 cities of the country.
Some meetings are also planned to be held in North East.
