TURA: In an effort to improve the confidence of the local people in the armed forces, the 120 billion CRPF organized a civic action program under the supervision of Commandant S Pramod Kumar Singh in East and West Garo Hills district.
As a part of this initiative, a ten-day training module on basic computer skills is being conducted at Navodaya Vidyalaya in Williamnagar, East Garo Hills district. Two computers and one printer used as training aids will be donated to the school after completion of the training.
After the basic module, there will be a three-month computer course with certification in collaboration with a professional IT training institute. Career counseling for students and unemployed youth will also be organized as part of the programme.
In total, forty-one solar lanterns were distributed to needy families in Sasatgre village in the West Garo Hills after the families were selected based on consultation with Nokma village. According to CRPF officials, more such welfare programs will be launched in future.
