Dimapur: A young traveller, mountaineer and athlete from Nataram village in Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district reached Nagaland’s capital Kohima on a solo cycle ride “Samppoorn Bharat Yatra” on Monday, raising awareness about women’s safety.
Asha Malviya is also working to encourage greater participation of women in the tourism sector and establish India as a “safe destination for women”.
It started its journey from Bhopal on November 1, 2022, on the occasion of Madhya Pradesh’s foundation day, and plans to complete it in New Delhi on September 29.
Malviya will stay in Nagaland till May 16 and will then leave for Manipur and Mizoram.
After her arrival in the state capital, she met Kohima Deputy Commissioner Shanavas C in his office chamber on Monday.
