To discuss Manipur crisis, Kuki-Zo leaders to meet Amit Shah

Imphal: Leaders, belonging to a Kuki-Zo organisation in Manipur, arrived in New Delhi to hold discussions with union home minister Amit Shah and officials of the ministry of home affairs (MHA) over the ongoing crisis in the Northeast state.

Leaders of tribal organisations in Manipur: Kuki Inpi Manipur, Zomi Council, Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum, Committee on Tribal Unity, Hill Tribal Council and all tribe councils arrived in Delhi on Monday evening.

The tribal leaders from Manipur will meet MHA officials, including interlocutor AK Mishra on Wednesday (February 07) to discuss prevailing crisis in Manipur.

However, the proposed meeting with union home minister Amit Shah is yet to be confirm, the tribal leaders informed.

“We have requested for an appointment with UHM Amit Shah and we are waiting for the positive response,” ITLF spokesperson Ginza Vualzong said.

In August last year, the Kuki-Zo leaders met union home minister Amit Shah in Delhi and put forward their demand for separation of administration from Manipur government.
