Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet discussed the pending draft for framing the Arunachal Pradesh Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Practices in Recruitment) Bill, which will soon be released to seek suggestions and inputs from all stakeholders.
Various important decisions were also taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday.
The Cabinet has also decided to write to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to request recruitment to Group A and B posts under the State Government unless Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) Article 315(4) does not fully function under of the Constitution, government spokespersons Nyato Dukam and Nyamar Karbak told reporters here.
He said that our government is committed to development and is bound to take quick decisions in public interest.
In another important decision, the Cabinet approved amendments to the Assam Frontier (Administration of Justice) Regulation, 1945, to strengthen the system of local customary delivery of justice and to establish Gaon Bura and Gaon Buri institutions and traditional villages. Councils condition can be strengthened.
“The proposed amendment includes necessary provisions to empower the traditional village body in the delivery of justice. It also empowers the Head Village Barhus, Village Barhus and Village Council,” the spokesman added. It will be presented in the next budget session of the assembly to be held from March 6.
In view of the importance and urgency of protecting drinking water sources from depletion, the Cabinet also approved the proposed Arunachal Pradesh Catchment Areas Conservation Bill, 2023.
The bill aims to reverse the current trend of water scarcity through various conservation activities and conservation of natural resources.
As we all know that the future growth or development of humanity depends on the availability of water. Arunachal Pradesh has been witnessing rapid drying up of rivers and streams of late and if immediate steps are not taken to avert this impending disaster, future generations will be deprived of water,” said Dukam.
This bill is designed to protect and conserve drinking water sources and catchment areas. He added that the proposed bill aims to make our watershed areas more resilient to climate change and reduce vulnerability through its proposed conservation activities.
The bill envisages the participation of various stakeholders with the formation of state level boards, district level boards and a committee at village level. The bill will be tabled in the Assembly, which aims to promote voluntary donation of land by stakeholders for conservation of catchment areas.
