TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee’s visit to Meghalaya canceled

Shillong: TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee’s visit to Meghalaya canceled. TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee has canceled his scheduled visit to Meghalaya.

Abhishek Banerjee was scheduled to visit Meghalaya on June 16.

The development was confirmed by Charles Pyngrope, head of Meghalaya TMC.
Meghalaya TMC chief Charles Pyngrope said Abhishek Banerjee’s visit to the state had been canceled due to his other official engagements in New Delhi in connection with the upcoming presidential elections.

“Abhishek Banerjee has been tasked with coordinating with other opposition parties during TMC chief Mamata Banerjee’s upcoming visit to New Delhi,” Pyngrope said.
This is the second time that Abhishek Banerjee’s visit to Meghalaya has been canceled.

Earlier, he was scheduled to visit Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, on May 3, which was canceled following reports that some Meghalaya TMC MLAs were planning to leave the party.
