TISF urges Governor to provide better facilities in schools, colleges

Agartala: The Tipra Indigenous Students Federation (TISF) – the students’ wing of Tipra Motha Party – met Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu demanding better infrastructure and basic facilities in schools and colleges of the state.

The TISF urged Governor Nallu to make Rignai (traditional cloth worn by Tripuri women) a dress code twice a week in all educational institutions of the state.

The students’ body also submitted a memorandum stating that as a student federation they observed many disadvantages that could set future generations back significantly.

The memorandum said that after visiting several colleges and most of the schools, it was found that there is not a single room having study materials, which are essential resources for the students.

It said there are no adequate restrooms for the students, no proper drinking water facilities – the basic necessity.

Moreover, it said there are inadequate seating arrangements, insufficient electricity and a lack of essential educational facilities.

The students’ body of Tripura urged the Governor for provision of better facilities in the schools and colleges that the students deserve.
