Tipra Motha rally attended by CM Mehalaya, vows heed to NE

Agartala: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Saturday asserted that he would not remain silent if anyone tried to dominate the northeastern region and tamper with the cultural heritage and traditions of its indigenous communities will stay.
Addressing a large gathering during Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council’s (TTAADC) Tipra Motha rally in Khumulnng, Sangma asserted, “Northeast is home to numerous indigenous communities, and if you look at our history review, you will find that our local leaders have tirelessly championed the causes of our people for decades.
“Though our ideals may differ, our ultimate goals and aspirations remain the same. Significant progress has been made. Our people must protect this sacred land, preserve our ancient culture and traditions, and provide a platform for the youth and women of this region.” Committed to securing a promising future.
Sangma asserted that regional leaders have consistently advocated for the welfare of future generations.
“We are not enmity with anyone. Our goal is harmonious co-existence and all-round development of the Northeast within the larger Indian framework. However, if anyone tries to take away our sacred land or our cultural heritage and traditions, Attempts to tamper, endanger the prospects of our youth, we will not remain silent.”
“We are staunch patriots and committed to the welfare of the nation. Yet, if any harm comes to our local community, we will not stand by it. Be assured that one day you will prevail, And you have to develop, for the benefit of future generations.” he added.
He called for unity among all indigenous communities in the North East and assured them that every effort would be made to raise their concerns in Parliament.
