Dimapur: The second Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games are starting in Kohima. The second Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2022 began on Wednesday at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima.

A total of 4000 athletes from all the districts of Nagaland are participating in 11 disciplines – Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Football, Lawn Tennis, Taekwondo, Shooting and Wushu.
The football tournament started on Wednesday at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, other events will be held from August 22 to August 27 in Dimapur and Longlang apart from Kohima.
Dimapur District defeated Wokha District 6-1 in the opening football match.
Nagaland Youth Resource and Sports Adviser Erzel Nekha, who was the chief guest at the inaugural function, said in his address that the Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games are a symbol of the unity of athletes from all corners of the state to share their love. express the game.
He said that the objective of the Olympic Movement is to contribute to building a peaceful world through sports where events are organized without any discrimination in the spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play.
Nekha said that football being a major attraction for the people of Nagaland is growing beyond imagination and expectations.
