The NSCN-K (Niki Group) is angry with the 'high-handedness' of the security forces.

According to a press release by the MIP, NSCN/GPRN, the security forces once again “disturbed the peaceful atmosphere of the community” by raiding the residence without “just cause or provocation”.

He added that the raids, besides torturing the Kilonser wife and children emotionally and mentally, were creating a psychology of fear in the entire village/colony area.

According to the NSCN-K (Niki Group), after failing to find any documents or items that could “give the AR personnel a reasonable reason to arrest Kilonser”, the security forces “found four country-made pistols in the residence. “planted” and branded him as a member of the Young Aung-led NSCN (K).
Despite the intervention of the Ceasefire Supervisory Board, the NSCN-K (Nicky Group) and the explanation that Konyak was a senior official under the leadership of General (retd) Nicky Sumi and Starson Lamkang, they “captured all the family members and took them to their homes.” Passed. Camp in the middle of the night,” he added.

The release further stated that the security forces were also adamant about registering an FIR at the Chümoukedima police station, claiming that Konyak was a member of the Yong Aung-led NSCN (K).
“The NSCN/GPRN has been assured that the security forces had a brutal intention to harm L Yakub Konyak if the Ceasefire Supervisory Board did not intervene in time,” it further alleged.

Terming the action as “immoral and callous”, the NSCN-K (Nicki group) said that the security forces should respect the ceasefire signed between the NSCN/GPRN and the Government of India and that all parties concerned should cease the ongoing conflict.

It added that “security forces should desist from such wanton acts that create fear and unease in the society which is against the wishes of the people.”
