Dimapur: Nagaland’s lone Lok Sabha MP Tokheho Yepthomi lamented that while other states in the country are going a long way in the development sector, Development in Nagaland is still lagging behind.
Presiding over a meeting of the Dimapur District Development Coordination Committee and Monitoring Committee at the Commissioner of Taxes’ conference hall here on Wednesday, Yapthomi said: “We need to correct our ways and educate our people otherwise there will be no development in our state.” There will be no progress.”
During a meeting with various departments, the MP said that he was not satisfied with the delay in their work and failure to give specific details and take corrective measures. He asked them to get correct information and demanded effective follow-up on the issues raised during the discussions.
He directed the departments to ensure efficient and accurate methods for dealing with various schemes under each department and to submit all the details up to date by September.
He further asked the departments to be more sincere and responsible for the implementation of all the flagship programs in the district.
PHED (Rural) and PHED (Urban), DRDA, PWD (R&B), Horticulture, Education, Agriculture, Social Welfare, Food and Urban Supply, Lead Bank, Tribal Affairs and Departments including water resources highlighted their latest activities, achievements of targets. Physical and financial, coverage and performance of centrally sponsored schemes in the district.
