
According to Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, conditions are difficult in the Northeast.
Regarding the continuous difficulties in Manipur, he underlined that while cyclical acts of violence still occur, the situation has been brought under control by the coordinated efforts of security personnel and proactive government actions.

The Army Chief stated that increased monitoring and dominance efforts are in place to prevent any spillover from the turmoil now occurring in Myanmar, in response to worries along the Indo-Myanmar border. These steps are intended to protect the area from outside forces that could cause instability.
General Dwivedi emphasized the Army’s resolve to improving its skills in the areas of disaster response and humanitarian aid. In order to strengthen the Army’s ability to react to crises efficiently, he announced, “We have specifically allocated Rs 17 crores for upgrading our Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) and Quick Response medical teams, based on the experience gained in 2024.”In order to foster stability and development in a difficult environment, the Indian Army’s activities in the Northeast highlight its twin focus on delivering humanitarian assistance and maintaining security.
