The CPI (M) has demanded “restoration of democracy” in BJP-ruled Tripura.
Agartala: Declaring the BJP-IPFT government in Tripura as anti-people, CPI (M) opposition leader Manik Sarkar on Saturday called for “restoration of democracy” in the northeastern state.
Addressing a rally, the former chief minister said that under the Biplab Kumar Deb government, a suffocating situation has arisen where the democratic rights of the people have been taken away.
“Democracy requires the observance of democratic rights. Democratic values and rights are being violated in Tripura, leaving the people in a quandary. Not only the population of Scheduled Castes (SC), all sections of society, Whether they are Dalits or minorities, they are facing anti-people policies, “said the veteran communist leader.
The rally was organized to present a charge sheet against the BJP-IPFT government on the 16-point charter of demand of the CPI (M) frontal wing Tripura Tapashilijati Sammanoy Samiti (TTSS). ۔
Urging the people to restore democracy in the state, the government said that the movement against the anti-people government must be intensified.
Those who confine themselves to their homes must come forward to join the movement for the restoration of democracy. There is no alternative. “Those who join the mass movement for the cause of the people become the winners,” he said.
The government also criticized the ruling Dispensation’s very popular decision to provide 33% reservation to women.
What does it mean to give 33% reservation to women when there are no jobs in the public sector? The BJP promised 50,000 jobs every year! Where is the completion! ”He said.
A member of the CPI (M) Politburo claimed that the good and welfare work of the Left Front government had been undermined and the people were facing a difficult time in the new government.
CPI (M) state secretary Jatinder Chaudhary also slammed the BJP-IPFT government for fooling the people with false promises in the vision document.
Biplab Kumar Deb government has taken away the rights of millions of unemployed youth. He claimed that the present government had not fulfilled a single promise of the vision document.
Chaudhry alleged that under the BJP government, the tradition of democracy, constitution and state had collapsed, and the right of citizens to vote had been taken away.
