The Chief Minister of Mizoram appreciated the Centre’s initiative to reduce NE areas under AFSPA.
Aizawl: Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Zormathanga on Thursday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their decision to reduce troubled areas in the Northeast after decades under AFSPA.
The region is experiencing peace thanks to the efforts of the central government, Kambhampati said.
“On behalf of the people of Mizoram, I would like to thank Mr. Narendra Modi and Mr. Amit Shah for the historic decision to reduce the troubled areas under AFSPA. Yes, “he tweeted.
Zoramathanga also thanked Modi and Shah on Twitter.

The Chief Minister termed the historic decision of the Center as a wise step.
