Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N Baran Singh on Wednesday handed over a cash award of Rs 100,000 to BT Henjoy Vaiphei, a traffic police officer, for his exemplary work in Chora Chandpur district.

In the presence of Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar and other officials, Vaiphei was honored at the CM Secretariat for her commitment to the safety of the people.
In a video that went viral on social media, Vaiphei was seen playing a key role in smoothing the flow of traffic at Tuibuong Junction in Chora Chandpur town despite heavy rains on Tuesday.
“Despite the heavy rains, I came across this video of a traffic policeman on duty in Chora Chandpur. His dedication to the service is really commendable,” CM Baran Singh posted on Facebook on Tuesday. “Tomorrow, I will present a cash reward for their exemplary service to the people,” he added.
“I am very grateful to the Chief Minister and the state government for this acknowledgment. As a traffic police officer, one has to perform one’s duty wholeheartedly,” said Wife.
