Gohpur: Nothing can stop a person from achieving his goals if he works towards his dreams with full belief, dedication and hard work. Pranav Saikia of Gohpur had to face adversity to achieve his dreams.
The son of a tea vendor passed the HSLC examination from Dilapakhara Higher Secondary School, Gohpur with first division, the results of which were announced yesterday. Pranav managed to get distinction with letter marks in five subjects.
Saikia, who aspires to become an IAS officer in future, scored 97 per cent in Social Science, 96 in Mathematics, 95 in Higher Mathematics, 89 in English and 87.83 per cent in General Science.
The parents as well as the people of the area are very excited that Pranav has achieved this feat despite being ill and battling poverty.
It is worth noting that Pranav’s mother, Anju Saikia, set up a tea stall at a women’s self-help group market in South Kalabari, while his father, Bapuram Saikia, taught her son to sell vegetables as well as help him said to Tea shops in various weekly markets
With financial constraints on the family all the time and poor health, Pranav defies all odds and stands out as a shining star among his peers and this is reflected in his determination and hard work.
But Pranav’s parents are now worried about providing him with higher education, who wants to study science in higher secondary.
