Taba RGU's scholar to feature at Rome Conference on fixed labour

Itanagar: Prem Taba, a research scholar at the Department of Mass Communication, Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), has secured a prominent position to present his keynote paper at the 5th International Conference on Future of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSHCONF) in Italy.
The prestigious event is scheduled to take place from 20 to 22 October 2023 in Rome, Italy.
Taba’s paper, titled “Bonded Labour and the Puroiks of Arunachal Pradesh, India: A Historical, Socio-Economic, and Policy Analysis,” was accepted after rigorous double-blind peer review by the prestigious scientific committee of the conference.
The FSHCONF organizing team has confirmed that Taba’s comprehensive research paper will be presented in the conference proceedings with a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for easy cross-referencing.
Additionally, his work has been published in internationally recognized journals, including ISI, Scopus, Copernicus, Reuters, and various other prestigious academic publications.
Taba, a dedicated PhD research scholar at RGU, holds postgraduate and MPhil degrees from the Department of Mass Communication. His illustrious academic journey is reflected in numerous contributions, prestigious books, research papers and articles in prestigious journals. He also actively participated in various conferences, workshops and seminars.
In her seminal research paper, Taba delves into the historical transformation of bonded labor and the policy challenges faced by the Puroik community, an indigenous tribe in Arunachal Pradesh, India.
It is noteworthy that this paper also highlights the transformational journey from the derogatory term “Slang” to official recognition as “Puroik”, a powerful move towards empowerment and identity recovery for this marginalized group. It is a sign of change.
Taba’s participation in the FSHCONF conference in Rome is expected to shed more light on the critical issue of bonded labour, promoting discussions on policy reforms to address the challenges facing the Poroak community.
